The Working Features of Drum Magnetic Separator
In the ore dressing plant, the commonly used drum magnetic separator is down-flow magnetic separator with the features that the separated concentrates move driven by the circular cylinder in necklace and move into a gap and are discharged out of the magnetic separator after concentrating and dewatering. This type of designing is able to effectively separate pure magnetic concentrate from coarse particle minerals and is widely used in the dense medium recycling system and improves the separating efficiency of the minerals.
As for the reversal drum magnetic separator, the flowing direction of the ores is opposite to the rotary direction of the cylinder. When this equipment is working, since the ore feeding may fluctuate sometimes, in order to minimize the loss of the magnetic materials and maintain high content of the high purity concentrate and solid pulp, the reversal magnetic separator will be used.
This type of magnetic separator is mainly applied in concentrate separating and processing the materials with the granularity about 250μm. The drum magnetic separator is widely used for processing low-taste taconite rock which contains 40%-50% iron. In order to effectively separate this kind of iron minerals, preliminary fine mill is often needed and the produced concentrate are made into pellet balls before being sent into the blast furnace for smelting.
